SabidoPartnerLaw Practice Robert Sabido's practice focuses on insurance coverage; consumer law, including compliance with and claims under the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act, Fair Credit Reporting Act, Truth In Lending Act, Oregon Unlawful Trade Practices Act, and Washington Consumer Protection Act; civil appeals; and complex civil litigation in Oregon and Washington federal and state courts. Before going into private practice, Robert served as an Assistant Attorney General in the Appellate and Trial Divisions of the Oregon Department of Justice. Education & Bar Admissions In 1993, Robert graduated cum laude from the University of Southern California, with a bachelor of arts in Social Sciences and Communication, emphasizing in Economics, and a minor in Law and Society. In 1996, he earned his law degree from the Pepperdine University School of Law, where he received the American Jurisprudence Award in Alternative Dispute Resolution and was an editor of the Pepperdine Law Review. Additionally, in 1995, Robert was a judicial extern to the Honorable Arthur Gilbert of the California Court of Appeal, Second District, Division 6. Robert was admitted to the Oregon State Bar in 1996, and the Washington State Bar in 1999. He also was admitted to the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals in 1997, the United States District Court of Oregon in 1998, and the United States District Court for the Western District of Washington in 2004. Professional Activities Robert is a member of the Oregon Association of Defense Counsel, where he currently serves as the Vice-Chair of the Insurance Coverage Practice Group, and previously served as the Publications Liaison for that group. Robert also is an active member of the Oregon Collectors Association; the American Collectors Association; the Oregon Mortgage Lenders Association, where he serves on the Legislative Committee; the Oregon Association of Mortgage Professionals; and the Mortgage Bankers Association. Additionally, Robert was recently elected to the board of directors of the Oregon Chapter of the Federal Bar Association. Community Activities and Interests Robert is a volunteer at St. Clare School. He also has served on the Board of Directors of the USC Alumni Club of Portland. Robert enjoys watching college football, playing golf, singing and playing music on the electronic keyboard.
